Job summary

Duke Energy in Plainfield, IN is hiring an Associate System Operator to join the System Operator Qualification Program. This trainee role provides hands-on development with supervision to obtain NERC certification and required task verifications while monitoring bulk electric system performance.

You'll train under experienced System Operators, work 24x7 rotating shifts, and progress through the hierarchy as credentials are earned.

Qualifications

• Must have a technical degree or substantial related experience.
• Preference for NERC System Operator Certification or regional/local certification.
• Must be capable of working 24x7 rotating shifts and relate to bulk electric system operations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and improves job-related knowledge and performance.
• With limited supervision, prepares for and passes the NERC system operator certification exam and task verifications.
• Completes training requirements, including ERO standards and regional/local certifications.
