Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer for the Systems Stress and Interiors Stress teams. You will perform stress analysis on 787 Aircraft Systems or Interiors products using classical hand calculations, Finite Element tools, and dynamic simulation, and you will review supplier documents to support technical oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Aerospace or Materials)
• At least 2 years in relevant engineering fields
• At least 1 year performing structural analysis
• Experience with classical hand calculation methods for structural analysis

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis on 787 Aircraft Systems or Interiors products using hand calculations, FEA tools, and dynamic simulation
• Review supplier documents to support technical oversight including drawings, analyses, tests, procedures, and reports
• Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the Systems or Interior Commodity designs
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish loads, interface architecture and interfaces
• Guide design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle and develop the structural environment and performance
• Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze results to validate requirements
• Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
• Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
• Develop certification related documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects
• Collaborate with domestic and international partners/suppliers on projects
• Active participation in growth of a new engineering organization
• Work under general direction
