Flow is hiring an Associate, Strategic Finance to inform company strategy, build models, and stand up processes from zero to one in a fast-moving environment. You will work cross-functionally with business leaders on planning, budgeting, and performance analytics.

The role emphasizes building rigorous financial models, connecting performance to drivers, and supporting equity and debt financing efforts with AI-enhanced insights.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategic finance, or a startup operating role.
• Excellent financial modeling and presentation skills; able to build a model from scratch.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and act like an owner.
• Fluency with AI tools and interest in applying them to finance and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with business leaders on strategic finance, long-range planning, and variance analyses.
• Drive monthly close, budget-vs-actual, and rolling forecast linking to revenue, headcount, and spend.
• Build and maintain financial models, unit economics, and business cases for strategic decisions.
• Support long-range planning, board materials, and ad hoc strategic questions.
• Contribute to equity and debt financings materials as needed.
• Leverage AI to enhance models, dashboards, and reporting.

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as an Associate, Strategic Finance. The Strategic Finance team is responsible for informing company strategy, implementing new business initiatives, coordinating capital markets activity, and performing advanced financial modeling. You will have a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally and use quantitative insights to drive better decision-making across the whole organization, including standing up processes from zero to one. The best candidates will be quantitatively excellent, intellectually curious, AI-native, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

• Work cross-functionally with our business leaders on all aspects of strategic finance, including but not limited to business plan formation, long-range planning and strategic alternatives
• Drive monthly reporting cadence — close actuals, budget-vs-actual, and the rolling reforecast — and connect reported performance to the revenue, headcount, and spend drivers behind it
• Build and maintain financial models, unit economics, and business cases to support key strategic decisions across the organization
• Support the broader Strategic Finance mandate, including long-range planning, board and management presentations, and ad hoc analytical questions that inform company strategy
• Contribute to materials and process for future equity and debt financings as needed
• Leverage AI tools to build out and improve existing models, dashboards, and reporting architecture

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 1–2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategic finance, or an operating role at a high-growth startup
• Excellent financial modeling and presentation skills — comfortable building a model from a blank sheet
• Proven ability to take initiative, operate independently, and act like an owner
• Fluency with AI tools and a genuine interest in applying them to finance and strategy work
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities — energized by zero-to-one problems
• Intellectually curious and quick to get up to speed on unfamiliar industries, business models, and technical domains
• Strong written and verbal communication; can distill complex analysis into a crisp narrative
• Willingness to work under pressure to produce outstanding results
• Track record of integrity, sound judgment, and genuine collaboration
