Flow is seeking an Associate, Strategic Finance to join our New York team. You will partner with business leaders on long-range planning, modeling, and strategic initiatives, and help scale finance processes in a fast-growing, AI‑driven environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2+ years in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or startup finance, strong financial modeling and presentation skills, and a hands-on, ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1–2+ years experience in investment banking, consulting, PE, strategic finance, or startup finance.
• Strong financial modeling and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic finance, planning, and initiatives.
• Lead monthly close, budget-to-actual, and rolling reforecast processes.
• Build models, unit economics, and business cases for strategic decisions.
• Support board materials and ad hoc analyses.
• Contribute to equity/debt financing materials.

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as an Associate, Strategic Finance. The Strategic Finance team is responsible for informing company strategy, implementing new business initiatives, coordinating capital markets activity, and performing advanced financial modeling. You will have a unique opportunity to work cross‑functionally and use quantitative insights to drive better decision‑making across the whole organization, including standing up processes from zero to one. The best candidates will be quantitatively excellent, intellectually curious, AI-native, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with our business leaders on all aspects of strategic finance, including but not limited to business plan formation, long-range planning and strategic alternatives
• Drive monthly reporting cadence - close actuals, budget-vs-actual, and the rolling reforecast - and connect reported performance to the revenue, headcount, and spend drivers behind it
• Build and maintain financial models, unit economics, and business cases to support key strategic decisions across the organization
• Support the broader Strategic Finance mandate, including long-range planning, board and management presentations, and ad hoc analytical questions that inform company strategy
• Contribute to materials and process for future equity and debt financings as needed
• Leverage AI tools to build out and improve existing models, dashboards, and reporting architecture

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 1-2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategic finance, or an operating role at a high-growth startup
• Excellent financial modeling and presentation skills - comfortable building a model from a blank sheet
• Proven ability to take initiative, operate independently, and act like an owner
• Fluency with AI tools and a genuine interest in applying them to finance and strategy work
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities - energized by zero-to-one problems
• Intellectually curious and quick to get up to speed on unfamiliar industries, business models, and technical domains
• Strong written and verbal communication; can distill complex analysis into a crisp narrative
• Willingness to work under pressure to produce outstanding results
• Track record of integrity, sound judgment, and genuine collaboration
