Job description

In conjunction with the Store Manager, the Associate Store Manager helps coordinate resources and services provided by UGG Company Stores and makes them consistent with the short and long-term interests of the Company. This position ensures that store personnel provides the highest level of customer service possible. Is responsible for helping the store manager achieving budgeted revenue goals and monitoring expenses. Major parts of the job on a day-to-day basis include managing staff, finding new ways to improve sales, and meeting customer demand.

Personnel Development:
  • Instill in employees the meaning and importance of customer service as outlined in GREAT Customer Service Program.
  • Promote and monitor quality of service among staff through training and by acting as a positive role model.
  • Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.
  • In conjunction with the Store Manager, help hire people who pursue passions that relate to the Company's products and philosophy.
  • Motivates employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store.
  • Reviews staff levels and adjusts schedules in conjunction with the store manager to create schedules that allow for the best possible customer service.
  • Delegate workload appropriately and effectively.
  • Has input on performance evaluations and goal assessments on the store associates and stock personnel.
  • With help from all store management, ensure that reviews are given on schedule and documentation is received by the HR Department.
Operations:
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives, and monitor what local competitors are doing.
  • Is aware of stock levels and gives input to store manager to enable key decisions about stock control.
  • Develop a pool of potential Management candidates to meet the long-range Retail and Company objectives.
  • Maintain training standards and implement new or revisions to existing programs to ensure both product and systems expertise that will improve store operations and allow for better customer service.
  • Follow and maintain merchandising standards that reflect the image of UGG Australia Company Stores as described in the Visual Standards Binder.
Finance:
  • Assist Store manager with the budgeting and financial planning of the store.
  • In conjunction with the Store Manager, review the fiscal revenue, expense and profit goals for the store and make changes to plan as needed.
  • Maximize daily sales to ensure that goals will be met through appropriate daily planning and organization of staff, inventory, and expenses for short and long term success. Make staff aware of sales goals and new programs.
  • Assist the store manager in executing the Loss prevention plan to protect the Company's inventory and assets and minimize annual shrink.
  • Work with Store Manager to take necessary action to lower expenses if sales goals are not being met.
