Job summary

Ballard Designs in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a Store Manager to hire, train, and lead a high-performing team. You will promote the Ballard Designs brand at every guest encounter and ensure operations align with brand standards and store goals.

Responsibilities include driving sales, managing schedules, supervising training on product knowledge and assortment benefits, and partnering with the Store Leader to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maximizing profitability and EBITDA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in specialty retail.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with Workday and Kronos is a plus.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Hire and retain great talent to deliver an inspiring shopping experience
• Promote the Ballard Designs brand at every guest encounter
• Ensure the team exemplifies brand values, standards, and experiences
• Guide company programs, increase sales, and set the store to exceed expectations
• Report to the Store Leader
• Deliver quality Sales Associate training, including product knowledge and product assortment benefits
• Lead sales generation and operational/human resources responsibilities to ensure guest satisfaction, productivity, profitability, and procedure execution
• Improve EBITDA by creating an exceptional place to work and shop
• Partner with the Store Leader to increase sales and guest loyalty through Design Services, the Ballard Designs Private Label Credit Card, community outreach, and corporate and regional events
• Recruit and train Team Members in all open positions

Requirements

• 3+ years of management experience in specialty retail industry, but not required
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Outlook, Workday, Kronos, and POS Systems
• Availability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 50lbs
