The mission of the Anoka County Facilities Management & Construction department is to provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment at the highest standard of excellence for the citizens and employees of Anoka County. The department has an immediate opening for an Associate Space Planner, that will play a key part in implementing, coordinating, and verifying strategic space planning initiatives across county facilities. You'll maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including blueprints, as-builts, and other essential documentation. Working collaboratively with project and operations managers throughout the county, the Associate Space Planner supports capital maintenance, construction, and commissioning efforts. This position offers strong exposure to a wide range of projects and provides opportunities for professional development and advancement within the Facilities department. In this role, you may handle essential project management functions for small to mid-sized construction initiatives, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, contractors, and inspection officials to keep projects moving smoothly. You may also support furniture and furnishing projects and help manage related furniture inventory. Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 30: $57,262.40 to $77,292.80 annually ($27.53 to $37.16 per hour).
This position will work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303, and may involve periodic travel to various Anoka County facilities as business needs require. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position may be eligible for hybrid work after the successful completion of a probationary period.
Standard office environment, and outdoor work sites in all weather conditions depending on assignment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades and brightness. Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds. Ability to detect, discern, and tolerate a wide range of scents required for safety and performance of essential duties. Assignments require several hours of varied physical activity in addition to viewing a computer screen, sitting at a desk, or walking/standing. Physical activity may include repeated bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, walking on sloped or uneven terrain, and handling/carrying equipment. Regular lifting of 0-25 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment. Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, prolonged vibration from machinery, and other hazards is possible while performing essential duties.
