Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, seeks an Associate Software Engineer for our Columbus, Ohio location. You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with product partners to translate requirements into technical solutions that support operational stability and strong customer experiences.

The role emphasizes C# OO development, relational databases, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of experience with OO programming, preferably C#.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL querying and optimization.
• Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD and collaboration with operations.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and enhance software to ensure operational stability and business continuity.
• Deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for consistent experiences.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from concept to post-launch support.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for creating, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions that provide operational stability and seamless business continuity.
• Responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that provide consistent, delightful experiences.
• Engages in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept/design to development to delivery and post-launch support.
• Collaborates with product partners and business stakeholders to grasp project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software solutions which align with team strategies, standards, and guardrails.
• Performs code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards, provides constructive feedback to team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1-3 years of experience and proficiency developing software applications using object-oriented programming languages, preferably C#
• Experience and proficiency working with relational database systems - including querying, design, implementation, and optimization
• Conceptual understanding of DevOps practices and principles, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and collaboration with operations teams to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle
• Experience and proficiency with cloud computing, including deploying and managing cloud-based applications, leveraging cloud services, and implementing best practices
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours

Additional Information

This is a fully on-site position reporting to the office Monday through Friday. You must live in the state of Ohio to be considered for this position.
