Personalis, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist – Technical Operations in Fremont, CA to drive end‑to‑end testing and validation for Next Generation Sequencing workflows.

You will work with R&D, Operations, LIMS, and Quality to deploy improvements to informatics systems and lab instruments. The role emphasizes developing scalable lab processes, meeting regulatory requirements (ISO 13485/FDA and CLIA/CAP where applicable), and collaborating with diverse teams to optimize sample throughput and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering or related field with 6+ years relevant experience.
• Advanced degree is advantageous.
• CLS certification is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Hands‑on knowledge of NGS technologies and CLIA/CAP‑regulated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Operations, LIMS, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Quality, Regulatory) to implement new products and automated processes.
• Contribute to strategic plans to ensure sustainability and scalability of lab operations.
• Support non‑conformance investigations and corrective action implementations.
• Assist LIMS team with deploying improvements to Operations Informatics systems and lab instruments.
• Plan and drive end‑to‑end testing and validation for NGS assays and workflows.
• Collaborate to identify growth areas in sample volume and implement improvements.
• Participate in project core teams and lead working teams.
