Personalis, Inc. in Fremont, CA, is seeking a hands-on molecular biology professional to join our oncology-focused R&D team. You will operate NGS equipment, perform library preparation on real-world samples, and help drive the development of precision medicine products used by pharma and biotech partners.

The role emphasizes assay development, workflow optimization, data documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration while adhering to SOPs, safety guidelines, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on molecular biology lab experience.
• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, QC (Qubit, TapeStation), and NGS library prep.
• Experience with liquid biopsy (cfDNA/cfRNA) or FFPE preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Assay & Workflow Execution: Support R&D scientists in developing, optimizing, and validating oncology assays.
• Sample Prep & Library Generation: Extract DNA/RNA and prepare high-quality libraries for NGS.
• Validation & Collaboration Studies: Process sample cohorts for validation and external collaborations.
• Protocol Refinement: Evaluate new SOPs and provide feedback to optimize procedures.
• Documentation & Reporting: Track samples and present findings in meetings.
