Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Scientist II to advance neurotoxin discovery. You will culture iPSC-derived neurons, perform in vitro pharmacological studies, and collaborate across functions to drive experimental rigor and innovation.

The role requires hands-on experience in cell culture, ELISA, and complex assays, with strong data analysis and documentation skills. This is a collaborative, deadline-driven lab environment within the Toxin Innovation Group.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with 3+ years in academic or industry labs.
• Expertise in cell culture aseptic techniques is required.
• Experience with ELISA, complex cell-based assays, and western blotting is required.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and/or flow cytometry is preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; GraphPad Prism; basic statistics is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Culture cells aseptically and manage iPSC-derived neuron experiments.
• Independently perform in vitro pharmacological studies and develop protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals and prioritize work.
• Analyze data, critique results, and present findings to teams.
• Maintain accurate experimental records per lab practices and regulations.
