Job summary

Aragen Bioscience seeks an Associate Scientist with strong hands-on expertise in cell-based assay development and execution, plus experience managing in vivo tumor models. Reporting to a director, you will design and troubleshoot assays and oversee daily in vivo studies for preclinical oncology programs.

Primary focus (~80%) on in vitro work, with ~20% on in vivo pharmacology. Requires strong data analysis, teamwork, and excellent communication within a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or a related life science discipline.
• 3+ years' hands-on experience developing and running cell-based assays within a drug discovery organization or CRO (PhD) or 7+ years (MS).
• Deep knowledge of cell and molecular biology techniques, including sterile technique, and assay troubleshooting and optimization.
• Demonstrated experience managing in vivo tumor models, including xenograft and/or syngeneic mouse studies, with proficiency in tumor implantation, caliper measurement, dosing (IP, IV, PO, SC), and terminal procedures.
• Working knowledge of IACUC protocol preparation and applicable animal welfare regulations.
• Strong data analysis and presentation skills, including dose-response and tumor-growth-inhibition analysis in GraphPad Prism or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot cell-based assays for preclinical oncology programs.
• Manage day-to-day in vivo tumor efficacy studies, including randomization and scheduling.
• Maintain cell cultures and cell banks; perform ELISA/MSD, Western blot/JESS, flow cytometry, and qPCR as needed.
• Record and manage study data accurately; support IACUC documentation as required.
• Balance multiple projects and analyze data for presentation and decision-making.
