The Company:
Larimar Therapeutics Inc. is a publicly held clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for patients suffering from complex rare diseases using its novel cell penetrating peptide technology platform. Our lead product candidate, Nomlabofusp (CTI-1601), is a subcutaneously administered, recombinant fusion protein intended to deliver human frataxin (FXN), an essential protein to the mitochondria of patients with Friedreich's ataxia. Friedreich's ataxia is a rare, progressive, and fatal disease in which patients are unable to produce sufficient FXN due to a genetic abnormality.
We have assembled an experienced management team, each of whom has over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Our management team, employees, and consultants have significant expertise in discovery, nonclinical and clinical development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing and CMC.

Job Responsibilities:
Larimar seeks an Associate Scientist for our King of Prussia-based R&D laboratory. As our Associate Scientist, you must be creative and motivated, while possessing expertise in cell biology, protein purification and/or assay development techniques to contribute to the development of our novel, cell-penetrating peptide-based platform for biologics delivery. As a member of the Discovery team, you'll directly participate in all steps of preclinical R&D from target validation and mechanism of action studies to the design and management of IND-enabling studies.

This role requires a BA/BS degree with at least 1-5 years of industry experience or MS degree with relevant research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related life science discipline. Prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is preferred, as is experience in mitochondrial biology, protein degradation, and/or neurodegeneration.
