The Company:

Larimar Therapeutics Inc. is a publicly held, clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for rare diseases using its novel cell-penetrating peptide technology platform. Our lead candidate, Nomlabofusp (CTI-1601), is a subcutaneously administered recombinant fusion protein designed to deliver human frataxin (FXN) to mitochondria in patients with Friedreich's ataxia, a progressive and fatal genetic disease.

Our experienced management team, with over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry expertise, supports discovery, nonclinical and clinical development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and CMC. Our goal is to lead in rare disease treatment by leveraging our technology platform and scientific expertise, fostering an entrepreneurial and collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Associate Scientist for our R&D laboratory in King of Prussia. The role requires creativity, motivation, and expertise in cell biology, protein purification, and assay development to advance our cell-penetrating peptide platform. As part of the Discovery team, you will participate in all preclinical R&D stages, including target validation, mechanism studies, and IND-enabling studies.

Requirements:
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 1-5 years of industry experience or Master's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, or related field. Prior biotech/pharmaceutical experience is preferred, especially in mitochondrial biology, protein degradation, or neurodegeneration.

Candidate Skills:
  • Proficiency in cell biology and biochemistry techniques: mammalian cell culture, aseptic techniques, protein analysis, microscopy, gene expression, and cell-based assays.
  • Experience in recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication for internal and external stakeholders.
