Job summary

Pennoni Associates seeks an Associate Roadway Engineer in our Philadelphia, PA office to lead 3D highway design and related roadway projects. You will work on projects for PennDOT, DRPA, DelDOT, and local municipalities, applying geometric design and drainage concepts while learning new standards.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver plans, cost estimates, and production assemblies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant roadway engineering experience.
• EIT certification and willingness to take the PE exam ASAP.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD; familiarity with Bentley InRoads.
• Experience with plan production and assembly is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D highway/roadway design components for transportation projects.

Job description

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Associate Roadway Engineer to work in our Philadelphia, PA office to perform the following, but not limited to:

• The successful candidate will lead 3D highway/roadway design components associated with transportation improvement projects, locally administered transportation projects, and highway and bridges projects for a variety of clients including PennDOT, private developers, DRPA, DelDOT, and local municipalities and agencies in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
• The candidate should have a firm grasp of geometric design, grading and stormwater management, traffic control, signing and the ability to learn new concepts.
• An understanding of AASHTO and PennDOT design standards, quantity calculations, cost estimations, and plan creation is beneficial but not required.
• The candidate will work with a team of engineers to design new highways and streets as well as rehabilitation of existing highways and streets.

Required Attributes

• 4+ years relevant experience
• EIT certification and willingness to take the PE exam ASAP.
• MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience. Bentley InRoads.
• Bluebeam PDF editor experience a plus.
• Experience with plan production and assembly a plus.

Preferred Attributes

• Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
• Having the ability to work in a Team Environment is key.
