Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an Associate Highway Engineer for the Transportation Division at our Lehigh Valley, PA office. The ideal candidate will contribute to PennDOT permit preparation, roadway and drainage design, ADA ramp design, and traffic control plans in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering with 2–5 years of experience, PA PE preferred, EPS familiarity, and knowledge of PennDOT/AASHTO standards. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with PennDOT publications and design standards.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 2–5 years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in PA preferred.
• Basic knowledge of PennDOT EPS.
• Familiarity with PennDOT/AASHTO design standards.
• Efficient use of engineering software (StormCAD, Hydraflow, VTPSUHM).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Seeks opportunities to improve work products.

Responsibilities

Pennoni is seeking an Associate Highway Engineer for the Transportation Division at their Lehigh Valley, PA office.

The ideal candidate will be a person who is experienced in:

• Transportation engineering including PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit preparation and review, roadway design, drainage design, ADA ramp design, maintenance and protection of traffic plans, pavement marking and signing layouts, and pavement section design and review.

Required Attributes:

• Experience/knowledge of PennDOT publications and design standards.
• Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum years of work experience: 2-5
• Licenses Required: Professional Engineer in PA preferred.
• Computer skills required: Basic knowledge of PennDOT's electronic permitting system (EPS).
• Familiarity with current design standards (PennDOT, AASHTO)
• Efficient use of other applicable engineering software (StormCAD; Hydraflow Hydrographs; Hydraflow Storm Sewers; VTPSUHM, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Looks for and seizes opportunities to improve work products.
