Job summary

Pennoni Associates is seeking a Staff Transportation Engineer to work out of any Pennoni PA office (King of Prussia, Bethlehem, Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, State College or West Chester) to perform field work and a range of transportation engineering tasks.

The role involves coordinating with internal staff on design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and client submissions, plus transportation geometry design, drainage and utility layout, erosion control, and

Qualifications

• Experience with PennDOT and Pa Turnpike design criteria.
• Ability to plan all phases of an engineering design project.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation.
• Efficient use of engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal staff to perform field work, design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and submissions to clients.
• Perform transportation geometry design and Highway Occupancy submissions, cross sections, and grading plans.
• Conduct erosion sediment control analyses.
• Carry out hydrology and drainage calculations.
• Layout water and sanitary sewer utilities and geometry.

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Staff Transportation Engineer to work out of any Pennoni PA office (King of Prussia, Bethlehem, Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, State College or West Chester) to perform the following, but not limited to:

• Coordinating and working with internal staff to perform needed field work, design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and submission to various clients
• Transportation geometry design, Highway Occupancy preparation and submissions, cross section, grading plans
• Erosion sediment control
• Hydrology and drainage calculations
• Water and sanitary sewer utility layout and geometry

Required Attributes

• Experience/knowledge of PennDOT and Pa Turnpike design criteria
• Ability to plan preparation on all phases of an engineering design project of all engineering principles
• Working knowledge of MicroStation
• Efficient use of engineering software

Preferred Attributes

• EIT Certification and PE License preferred
• Ability to work independently to solve engineering design issues and provide justification for the work
• Ability to learn and apply new skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
