Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Graduate/Associate Highway Engineer for the Transportation Division at the Lehigh Valley, PA office. The ideal candidate will be experienced in transportation engineering, PennDOT permits, roadway and drainage design, ADA ramp design, traffic control plans, pavement marking and signing layouts, and pavement section design and review.

Required: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 1–5 years' experience, familiarity with PennDOT standards and EPS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 1–5 years of work experience in highway/transportation projects.
• PA EIT is preferred; Professional Engineer in PA is a plus.
• Familiarity with PennDOT design standards and EPS is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits.
• Contribute to roadway and drainage design and ADA ramp design.
• Develop maintenance and protection of traffic plans and pavement layouts.
• Produce pavement markings, signing layouts, and pavement section reviews.

Job description

Pennoni is seeking a Graduate/AssociateHighway Engineer for the Transportation Division at theirLehigh Valley, PA office.The ideal candidate will be a person who is experienced in:

• Transportation engineering including PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit preparation and review, roadway design, drainage design, ADA ramp design, maintenance and protection of traffic plans, pavement marking and signing layouts, and pavement section design and review.

Required Attributes:

• Experience/knowledge of PennDOT publications and design standards.
• Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum years of work experience: 1-5
• Licenses Required: EIT - Professional Engineer in PA preferred.
• Computer skills required: Basic knowledge of PennDOT’s electronic permitting system (EPS).
• Familiarity with current design standards (PennDOT, AASHTO)
• Efficient use of other applicable engineering software (StormCAD; Hydraflow Hydrographs; Hydraflow Storm Sewers; VTPSUHM, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Looks for and seizes opportunities to improve work products.
