SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Associate Project Restoration Engineer to advance ecological restoration in North Carolina and the Southeast, with hybrid or fully remote options within the U.S. The role emphasizes stream and wetland restoration, living shorelines, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling using Civil 3D.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in engineering, EI certification, PE license encouraged, and up to 25% travel for data collection and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressive engineering experience; PE preferred.
• Experience with stream, wetland, and coastal/living shoreline restoration design.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project execution: schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication.
• Develop restoration designs for stream, wetlands, living shorelines, and nature-based infrastructure.
• Conduct field investigations and analyses to optimize restoration designs.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to guide implementation.
• Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to support design optimization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate science and engineering.
