Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a mid-career Stream Restoration Engineer in a hybrid office setting (Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, NC; Greenville, SC; Johnson City, TN). You will plan, design and support construction for riverine and wetland restoration projects, with compliance and permitting tasks as part of a broad environmental engineering practice.

The role requires 5+ years in fluvial geomorphology and ecological restoration, strong technical writing, and potential licensure within 3 years.

Qualifications

5+ years (7+ preferred) of consulting experience in fluvial geomorphology and ecological restoration; riverine/wetland systems.
Experience planning field and desktop data collection, data analysis, and application in an engineering context to restore degraded streams/rivers and wetlands.
Experience producing Mitigation Plans and/or Mitigation Banking Instrument documents, including USACE coordination.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to obtain Professional licensure within 3 years if not already held.

Responsibilities

Direct multi-disciplinary project teams.
Performing and overseeing detailed fluvial geomorphic, sediment transport, biological, soil science, hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
Leading field investigations and providing construction support services.
Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Applying and/or directing hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software from 1-D to 3-D.
Interacting with client representatives and managing project scope and delivery.
Supporting lead generation, staff development and mentoring.
