Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner.Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls appropriately.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate new and recurring patient appointments.
- Facilitate efficient patient flow throughout the department.
- Perform accurate patient registration and maintain demographic and financial records.
- Obtain and verify insurance information, including eligibility, benefits, and coordination of benefits.
- Secure and process prior authorizations as required.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, payers, and patients to obtain and verify financial information.
- Assist with the timely and accurate resolution of patient account issues.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, rehabilitation staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide administrative support to ensure smooth daily clinic operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives and operational activities.
- Order, distribute, and maintain appropriate inventory of department supplies.
- Monitor and support adherence to departmental productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Participate in required training related to department equipment, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired.
- Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred.
- Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS).
