On behalf of our client, a leading real estate investment management firm with more than 40 years in the industry, we are conducting a confidential search for a Acquisitions Associate to join their Dallas-based investment team. Our client is a specialist investment manager offering a broad range of real estate strategies across the risk/return spectrum to several hundred institutional investors worldwide, and operates as part of a larger, globally diversified financial services organization spanning asset management, wealth management, and fintech.
About the Role
The Acquisitions Associate will work closely with the Dallas-based investment team to analyze potential property, portfolio, and M&A investments across the risk-return spectrum, and to help execute the firm's overall investment program. This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams spanning finance, acquisitions, asset management, development, research, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and modify discounted cash flow projection models for prospective investments, using both Microsoft Excel and Argus Enterprise
- Exercise sound judgment to develop informed opinions on underwriting assumptions and appropriate pricing/return parameters
- Assist with, and in certain cases lead, due diligence on new investments, including review of third-party environmental, engineering, and bespoke reports, title, survey, historical financial statements, leases, and market/competitive positioning research
- Assemble and draft investment memorandums for presentation to internal and client investment committees
- Collect, evaluate, and synthesize data from multiple sources, presenting findings clearly and concisely
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of properties, portfolios, and operating companies
- Create and maintain portfolio models
- Support financing and disposition transactions
- Assist with the preparation and review of portfolio-level and client reports
- Contribute to special projects and prepare ad-hoc reports as needed
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of postgraduate experience as an investment analyst; experience in acquisitions, asset management, or capital markets preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with high proficiency in cash flow preparation
- Demonstrated track record of deploying capital into investments that meet projected returns and create long‑term value for stakeholders
- Experience underwriting both commercial and residential asset types; experience with development and debt opportunities is a plus
- Experience preparing written investment recommendations and participating in investment opportunity presentations
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, along with a high degree of integrity
- Strong team player capable of reporting to middle and senior management while also guiding members of the analyst pool
