The Role

The Associate will work closely with senior members of the team across both Acquisitions and Asset Management, taking meaningful ownership across the full investment lifecycle. The role will have direct exposure to underwriting, due diligence, financing, portfolio strategy, business plan execution, and dispositions, while regularly interacting with senior leadership, brokers, investors, and operating partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the underwriting and due diligence of prospective multifamily acquisitions.
  • Build, maintain, and review detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, DCF analyses, sensitivity analyses, and investment return scenarios.
  • Play an active role across acquisition, financing, asset management, recapitalization, and disposition processes.
  • Analyze and monitor property-level financial and operational performance against budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Work closely with property management and internal leadership to identify performance opportunities and drive execution of property-level business plans.
  • Conduct property, market, and industry analysis to evaluate new investments and identify trends across target markets.
  • Prepare and contribute to investment committee materials, acquisition presentations, portfolio reporting, investment offerings, and investor-facing materials.
  • Interface with brokers, investors, lenders, operating partners, and senior leadership throughout the investment process.
  • Take ownership of ad hoc investment analysis and strategic initiatives across the portfolio.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree, CFA candidacy, or other relevant designation is a plus.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in multifamily real estate investing, acquisitions, asset management, private equity, investment banking, or another highly analytical real estate finance role. Direct multifamily experience is strongly preferred.
  • Modeling Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities, with demonstrated experience in DCF analysis, real estate underwriting, and investment return analysis.
  • Investment Acumen: Strong understanding of real estate investment fundamentals with the ability to evaluate opportunities from both an acquisition and asset management perspective.
  • Analytical Ability: Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for work product.
  • Ownership: Ability to independently manage analyses and workstreams, prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and find solutions without requiring step-by-step direction.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and external partners.
  • Travel: Ability to travel less than 25% of the time to visit properties and markets.
  • Cultural Fit: Team-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working within a close-knit, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Mindset: Curious, hungry, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented, with a desire to take on increasing responsibility and grow as an investor.
