Job summary

Tyler Technologies’ Kentucky Enterprise in Frankfort, KY is seeking an Associate Project Manager to coordinate software development projects, manage SDLC processes, and work with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver on time and within budget.

You will create project plans, develop documentation, monitor risks, and ensure quality while supporting state agencies and partners. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of PM experience, strong communication, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of project management experience leading project teams or IT PMO involvement.

Tyler Technologies’ Kentucky Enterprise is currently looking to hire an Associate Project Manager to work at our Frankfort, Kentucky location. At Tyler, our Project Managers are adept multi-taskers who can juggle multiple priorities, provide outstanding service to our customers, and work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure they achieve an exceptional outcome. Our Project Managers are intimately familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and know how to work in a fast-paced, challenging, software-driven environment. They create project plans, oversee necessary communication documents, direct and manage projects from beginning to end, follow processes and procedures, define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and collaborate with senior management and partner project team members.
The Project Manager manages projects, and ensures that they are delivered on time, within budget and to the customer’s expectations. Must be able to coordinate project requirements with stakeholders and have outstanding organizational and leadership skills. This should be coupled with an ability to understand the broader picture.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all project activities to achieve stated project goals, objectives, budgets and schedules.
• Develop key project documentation, including, but not limited to, task orders/work orders, statements of work, requirements and specification documents, comprehensive project management plans and all associated sub-plans, deployment plans, and lessons-learned documents.
• Work with the cross-functional teams to identify, articulate, and mitigate project issues and risks.
• Proactively manage internal project teams, and when necessary, consultants and/or external vendors.
• Effectively manage resource allocations, resource scheduling, inter-project and external project dependencies.
• Implement and execute comprehensive stakeholder management and communication plans.
• Create and deliver presentations on project goals and plans, including progress reports.
• Analyze and effectively report on project metrics — e.g., ETC, EV, profitability, project progress, issues and risks.
• Perform other Project Management related duties as requested to achieve organizational objectives.
• Contributes to account management initiatives, including partner relationship development and cultivating new opportunities for deployed services.
• Other responsibilities assigned by manager.
• Generate marketing activity reports.
• Assist with customer service support for state agencies and association members.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of Project Management experience leading project teams, as a member of an IT Project Management Office (PMO), or as an individual contributor within an IT department.
• Understanding of implementing project management best practices leveraging multiple methodologies.
• Experience with E-Commerce projects, specifically online payment engines and/or credit card transactions
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related scientific, technical or business discipline.
• Basic understanding of the full SDLC and SDLC Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
• Understanding of risk and issue management including strategies related to identifying risks, tracking and mitigating risks.
• Strong customer service background or mentality
• Demonstrated effective group facilitation skills.
• Ability to identify and understand complex problems/issues and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
