Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic oversight for ACC education activities
  • Liaise with product or grant managers to intake activity requirements and provide implementation status updates
  • Lead staff and vendors implementing educational activities using project management strategies
  • Develop and manage activity timelines and ensure milestones are reached on schedule
  • Schedule and facilitate internal team and faculty meetings
  • Develop agendas and meeting minutes and maintain planning files
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across divisions and departments to support activity implementation
  • Identify clinical and non-clinical problems and associated practice gaps using appropriate sources and data
  • Develop learning objectives, desired outcomes, and activity agendas
  • Integrate teaching strategies appropriate for adult learners
  • Implement activity assessment strategies to measure outcomes
  • Manage faculty invitations, documentation, and faculty liaison activities
  • Procure and process content, photographs, permissions, disclosures, graphics, and references
  • Coordinate logistics and ensure integrated learning design through the venue
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Branding on marketing plans and materials
  • Develop or coordinate learner materials
  • Monitor financial status and recommend revenue and expense management areas
  • Provide onsite team leadership and faculty support
  • Ensure compliance with and documentation of ACCME, ANCC, and other accreditation policies and procedures
  • Keep current on medical education standards and guidance
  • Implement continuing education best practices and research innovative activity development and delivery ideas
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or development of educational activities
  • At least two years of experience working in a team environment with internal and external constituencies
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale (200+ attendees, concurrent sessions), national meetings simultaneously
  • Experience managing online delivery of educational activities through a Learning Management System and/or online platform
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with medical professionals, executive leaders, contractors, consultants, partners, and internal colleagues
  • Ability to organize complex projects and attend to details
  • Ability to manage multiple educational activities and associated tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and maintain timelines
  • Familiarity with developing and monitoring budgets and expenditures
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong copyediting and proofreading skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Professional
  • Knowledge of industry standards and guidelines related to certified medical education
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and aligned adult learning strategies
  • Ability to periodically work outside standard work hours to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel for job responsibilities and professional development, anticipated at 10% or less annually, including possible weekend travel
  • Activity management experience in the medical education field is desired
  • Project management certification or credential is desired
  • Experience with constituent engagement and management software such as Personify or Salesforce is desired
  • Experience with timeline management software such as Microsoft Project is desired
