Job description

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions.

If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application - we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

As Associate, Program Management - Engineering you will help build the coordination backbone that keeps LA28's Engineering workstreams moving in the years leading up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, turning scattered requests, schedules, and decisions into a shared picture that teammates and partners can act on. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, you will sit at the center of a cross-functional group of venue, technology, and delivery teams, gaining unusually broad exposure to how a Games is planned and delivered. This is hands‑on work with real ownership, suited to someone organized, curious, and comfortable making progress before every answer exists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Engineering planning and delivery with key functional areas, including Venue Development, Event Management, Sport, Broadcast, Technology, Energy, and Accessibility, so workstreams stay aligned.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders - design and delivery partners, public agencies, and venue teams - to support the Engineering workstream.
  • Act as a point of contact for the Engineering team, fielding stakeholder requests, supporting resource management, and holding teammates to agreed deliverables and timelines.
  • Organize meetings, capture minutes, and follow up on action items so decisions are recorded and progress is visible.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, standard operating procedures, and other documents that give leadership a clear view of Engineering status.
  • Book travel and manage expense reports for the Engineering team.
Required Competencies
  • 2+ years relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Office 365, Smartsheet, SharePoint) critical.
  • Ability to present information concisely to wide audiences including executive leadership, external contractors and advisors, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, multi‑stakeholder environment.
Valued Experience
  • Knowledge of engineering collaboration tools and software (e.g., Autodesk Forma, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Engineering or technical background and/or education.
  • Relevant industry experience including, but not limited to, event management, engineering, and/or construction management.
  • Experience developing and overseeing project schedules, and familiarity with sport and event planning.
What We Offer
  • Breadth: exposure to every Engineering workstream and the functional areas that depend on it.
  • Access: a seat in the rooms where venue, technology, and delivery decisions get made.
  • Transferable skills in program coordination, stakeholder management, and technical documentation.
  • Teammates creating venue infrastructure that does not exist yet, who share what they learn.
What This Role Means for the Games

Engineering decisions shape what athletes, fans, and broadcasters experience at every venue. By keeping information accurate and teammates aligned, you help those decisions land on time.
