Job description

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

Delivering the Olympic and Paralympic Games depends on hundreds of interdependent parts staying connected. As Senior Associate, Technology Project Management, you will help create the project plans, trackers, and governance processes that keep Technology delivery on course as the Games take shape. Working across internal teammates and external delivery partners, you will transform fragmented information into clear, actionable plans — and capture the institutional knowledge that future Organizing Committees will build upon. It is a role offering broad, cross-functional exposure across many teams and genuine ownership of how complex work is organized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage project plans, task trackers, and risk and issue logs that keep delivery teams consistently aligned and on schedule.
  • Learn and apply established project governance processes across change management, risk, and overall project management.
  • Analyze proposed changes and proactively mitigate their downstream impacts before they reach delivery teams.
  • Compile and document institutional knowledge so it can be reused effectively by future Organizing Committees of the Games.
  • Partner with internal teammates and external delivery partners to keep every plan grounded in accurate, current information.
  • Proven experience managing projects — creating plans, tracking open issues, mitigating risks, and driving tasks to on-time completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and connect fragmented input from multiple stakeholders and incomplete information sources into cohesive, actionable plans.
  • Proven experience working within highly integrated, multi-organization teams of internal employees and external delivery partners such as consultants, sponsors, and vendors.
  • Documented experience learning, implementing, and improving complex operational processes, with a clear grasp of downstream effects and big-picture impacts.
  • Proven experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing large volumes of information from digital repositories and human sources to draft documentation.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and Microsoft Excel.
  • Project management certifications such as PMP or CAPM.
  • Experience in a co-creation workforce model or matrixed organization.
  • Background supporting workforce mobilization during event readiness and testing phases.
  • Experience compiling close-out reports and transfer-of-knowledge documentation for future stakeholders.
What We Offer
  • Career-defining exposure across Technology and the wider Games program in Los Angeles.
  • Considerable breadth, collaborating with employees, consultants, sponsors, and vendors on work that spans many interconnected teams.
  • Transferable project-management experience gained on a genuinely historic, once-in-a-career event.
  • Teammates who value co-creation, continuous learning, and shared, collective success.
What This Role Means for the Games

Clear plans and well-managed risks are precisely what allow complex Technology work to land reliably on time. Your project discipline helps teammates make decisions with better information, and the institutional knowledge you capture becomes part of the lasting legacy passed forward to future Games.
