Job summary

Kautex in Michigan is seeking a Senior Technical Project Lead Engineer to drive development of customer products from concept through prototyping, validation and mass production. You will coordinate across design, manufacturing and purchasing to meet specifications, costs and timing.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, hands-on automotive mechatronics experience, knowledge of battery systems, and strong English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable education.
• Hands-on engineering experience in automotive mechatronics and mechanical engineering.
• Experience with battery systems in the automotive sector.
• Business English mandatory.
• German, French and/or Japanese language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer product from first system concept, through quote, prototyping, validation and towards a fully released product in mass production.
• Ensure proactive requirements and risk management for all technical aspects.
• Ensure that customer specifications as well as cost targets, design-to-manufacture and timing goals are met.
• Knowledge about and compliance to the customer specific requirements.
• Act as technical liaison between product development teams and the customer and all other internal functions like design, manufacturing and industrialization.
• Supervise product testing including interpretation of test results and modifications to meet requirements.
