Job description

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The Associate Principal Engineer will work within the Engineering Equipment Project team, responsible for manufacturing equipment used to produce a complex medical device. The team provides project management and technical expertise related to manufacturing equipment.

  1. Lead and manage controls related to components of engineering projects and support unplanned requests.
  2. Support and develop PLC programs and vision system programs across various equipment types.
  3. Provide integration expertise for manufacturing equipment.
  4. Create documentation such as equipment master records, drawings, and parts lists.
  5. Manage change control processes and compliance documentation for projects.
  6. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams to lead projects ensuring optimal manufacturing processes.
  7. Organize and lead meetings to support project timelines.
  8. Develop and submit CAPEX requests for projects.
  9. Address unplanned engineering support requests as directed by management.
  10. Support ongoing projects to maintain manufacturing operations and product quality.
  11. Evaluate new technologies and participate in developing long-term strategies for equipment and process improvements.
  12. Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with 5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
  • Alternatively, High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with automated processes and machinery for 5+ years.
  • Preferred experience with Fanuc Robots, Rockwell ControlLogix, Servo Drives, and FactoryTalk View.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work professionally in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations and equipment validation is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
