Job summary

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc. in Mesa, AZ seeks an Associate Application Engineer to develop p-CMP CMP processes and introduce them at customer sites. The role also involves formulation development for new chemistries.

The candidate will act as a liaison between formulation chemists and CMP tools, support customers on-site, and lead cross-functional teams in R&D and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Material Science with 9+ years in semiconductor CMP development.
• MS with 7+ years or PhD with 3+ years preferred.
• Strong analytical, experimental and CMP process development skills.
• Familiarity with zeta potential, corrosion, colloidal silica, and electrochemistry.
• Excellent communication and time management; able to work in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data reporting tools; DoE/JMP experience beneficial.
• Ability to travel up to 40%, including international trips.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support and improve CMP & p-CMP processes for new and existing products.
• Act as process liaison between formulation chemists and CMP polishing and metrology tools.
• Provide on-site customer support and perform troubleshooting and testing.
• Develop new CMP slurries & p-CMP formulations per node needs.
• Investigate chemistry and abrasive interactions with dielectric and metal films.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to Applications and R&D.
• Apply knowledge of acids/bases, corrosion inhibitors, and interfacial chemistry to slurry development.
• Participate in new product development and commercialization.
