Job Description Summary

The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of associate/full professor to begin in the 2023-24 academic year within the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Program (Ed.D.). We seek dynamic, creative, scholarly-practitioners committed to quality teaching, student success, and scholarship. The doctoral program is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is considered one of the most successful programs of its kind. Since 1976, it has prepared leaders in the fields of Pk-12 education, higher education, business, government, military, and nonprofit organizations. The core competencies of the program include leadership, change, and contribution as they relate to personal and interpersonal, team, and organizational effectiveness. The program is cohort-based and consists of three years of coursework delivered face-to-face as well as virtually. Honoring practice and scholarship, the curriculum provides depth and breadth of understanding and development culminating in a research dissertation that makes a major contribution to the field. The mission of the doctoral program is “to develop scholarly practitioners as leaders and architects of change who make significant contributions to the organizations and communities they serve.” Established in 1891, the University of La Verne has a 125+ year tradition as an independent, nonprofit, comprehensive, doctoral granting institution with a strong commitment to creating an environment that supports growth and success. Serving an ethnically and economically diverse student population, the University of La Verne maintains a strong position in the population and demographics of California. It is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and places a high priority on creating an environment that supports the growth and success of underrepresented and underserved populations, particularly in urban and rural environments. Two prominent annual ranking of America’s Best Colleges –U.S. News & World Report and Forbes Magazine – recognize The University of La Verne as one of the nation’s top national universities.
