Position Information

Located in North Carolina's third largest city, UNC Greensboro is among the most diverse, learner-centered public research universities in the state, with nearly 18,000 students in eight colleges and schools pursuing more than 150 areas of undergraduate and over 200 areas of graduate study. UNCG continues to be recognized nationally for academic excellence, access, and affordability. UNCG is ranked No. 1 most affordable institution in North Carolina for net cost by the N.Y. Times and No. 1 in North Carolina for social mobility by The Wall Street Journal - helping first-generation and lower-income students find paths to prosperity. Designated an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, UNCG is a community-engaged research institution with a portfolio of more than $67M in research and creative activity. The University's 1,100 faculty and 1,700 staff help create an annual economic impact for the Piedmont Triad region in excess of $1B.

The MEHT Department consists of 15 full-time faculty members. The department serves over 500 undergraduate students and offers three Bachelor of Science degrees in: Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. All three degrees are offered online and on campus. Additionally, the Department delivers courses in the undergraduate business core, and the MBA program. The North Carolina Sales Institute is also associated with the Department. Faculty members are active in research and have published in Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Small Business Economics, Tourism Management, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Family Business Strategy, and other very high-quality journals. Faculty members in the Department have received external funding from agencies such as North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and National Institutes of Health.

The Bryan School has over 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 120 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments and programs. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, and in the apparel design and merchandising area by TAPAC, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors and accolades. The faculty and students are both impressive. For example, in recent years its tenure-stream faculty members averaged 2 to 3 peer-reviewed journal articles annually each, and collectively publish 15 to 20 in FT50 journals, plus 20 to 25 in other widely acknowledged (CABS/AJG) 4-level journals, in addition to books, publications in less prestigious journals, grants and contracts, and more than 100 editorial positions with peer-reviewed journals. Students have traditionally performed well in national and regional competitions. The School takes great pride in being one of the most diverse business schools in the UNC system in both enrollment and graduations. More information about the School may be found at the following URL: http://bryan.uncg.edu.
