Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join our Vision Center team. You will deliver evidence-based vision care, prescribe medications, educate patients on eye health, and coordinate with store colleagues to ensure seamless care.

The role includes comprehensive eye exams, diagnostic testing, and use of EMR tools and advanced instruments in a fast-paced retail setting. You will uphold high standards of patient service and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patient's health and well-being by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options; delivers routine vision care and educates patients and staff on eye health and lens care; collaborates with ophthalmologists and other providers as needed; documents medical history, examinations, and treatment plans.
• Performs comprehensive eye exams, evaluates visual function, and prescribes eyeglasses or contact lenses; orders and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma testing, OCT) and develops treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Maintains patient information in vision center systems, adheres to healthcare regulations, and supports Walmart vision center operations and customer service.
• Attracts and develops talent within the team and fosters an environment of integrity and service.
• Embraces new equipment and technology to enhance eyecare delivery, such as digital phoropters and EMR systems.
