Job summary

Merck in Durham, NC is seeking an Associate Technician to support process operations in a GMP manufacturing environment. You will assist with equipment setup, operation, and documentation to ensure compliant production.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, aseptic gowning qualifications, and willingness to work day shift. TB titers and chest X-rays are required, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass aseptic gowning qualifications (beard/mustache cover, hair net, hood, facemask, goggles, jumpsuit, gloves, boots).
• Computer literacy required (internet, email, spreadsheets, word processing).
• Must lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb ladders, wear respirator.
• Shift: Mon-Fri, Day shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM).
• TB titer and Chest X-ray required.

Responsibilities

• Support operations as an expert through qualification into commercial manufacturing.
• Edit operations and technical documentation (Batch Records, SOPs, training) to support projects and future operations.
• Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations with appropriate personnel.
• Participate in team meetings and lean initiatives (HAZOPS, 5S, kaizen).
• Execute and own production targets for assigned area; attend daily huddles and escalate as needed.
• Clean, set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment and facilities.
• Maintain inventories and excellent recordkeeping and housekeeping.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and on-floor project activities.
