Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Accelerated Materials & Product Development (AMPD) engineering department in Moorestown, NJ. You will design, analyze, and test structures and systems to meet project requirements and industry standards, collaborating across disciplines to ensure design intent and timely resolution of issues.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with CREO Parametric or similar 3D CAAD software tools - Windchill, EPDM
• Understanding of and able to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Self-starter and independent worker
• Experience with launcher and missile canister development
• Comfortable working on a dynamic, fast paced team under demanding schedules
• Familiarity with composite products.

Responsibilities

• Lay out conceptual designs early in the design phase and support proposal efforts
• Support mechanical design throughout the execution phase on multiple projects
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to evaluate material and component structural and thermal data applying it to the design
• Interpret design specifications, codes, and standards to ensure project compliance.
• Collaborate with project teams to verify design intent and resolve issues promptly.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and validation phases of the engineering cycle.
