Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Sr to contribute to the Air Dominance program. You will design, develop, and improve mechanical fixtures and automated test equipment for production testing, collaborating with a cross-functional team.

The role requires Creo, Windchill PLM, GD&T knowledge, and experience creating drawings and BOMs. Occasional travel to support test equipment assembly. Competitive benefits and a path to impact mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design engineering principles, structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis.
• Knowledge of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform tolerance analysis.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software.
• Ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications.
• Ability to work with team members and contribute to projects.
• Ability to contribute to investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally to support test equipment assembly and checkout in factory environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and improvement of mechanical fixtures and automated test equipment for production test.
• Create CREO layouts and detailed drawings for mechanical fixtures.
• Build BOMs, create parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
• Support and upgrade test equipment hardware designs for UUT fixturing.
• Coordinate with production teams to maintain test fixture and equipment uptime.
• Manage drawing releases, respond to CRs, and participate in design reviews.
