Goodwin Recruiting in Seattle seeks an Associate Attorney to defend healthcare professionals in medical malpractice and related litigation, guiding cases from evaluation through trial preparation.

You will work with seasoned litigators, contribute to case strategy, handle discovery and depositions, draft briefs and motions, and keep clients informed on deadlines and developments under a 1,800-hour annual billable target.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Washington license.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or insurance defense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defend healthcare professionals and organizations in medical malpractice and related litigation.
• Help shape case strategy by assessing claims, researching legal questions, and analyzing medical evidence.
• Prepare compelling briefs, motions, and other court documents.
• Handle discovery, review case records, and conduct depositions.
• Partner with senior attorneys on trial preparation and litigation proceedings.
• Keep clients informed, address questions, and provide thoughtful guidance throughout their matters.
• Coordinate with colleagues and support staff to keep cases organized and deadlines on track.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant legal developments and pursue continued professional growth.
• Meet a 1,800-hour annual billable target.

Our client, an established Seattle law firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to help defend complex claims and guide matters from initial evaluation through trial preparation. You’ll work alongside experienced litigators, contribute to case strategy, and develop relationships with clients across the healthcare industry.

Compensation, Benefits, Location

• $125k–$155k base, depending on experience, plus a billable-hour bonus
• Seattle, WA - hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite each week

What You Bring
