Associate Litigation Attorney

Kansas City, MO | Full-Time | In-Person

The Opportunity

This isn't a high-volume personal injury mill. It's a plaintiff-side firm that takes pride in working cases deeply — building real client relationships, thinking creatively, and developing attorneys who want to grow into their best work.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute strategy on personal injury and long-term disability cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence
• Negotiate directly with insurance companies
• Communicate with clients with clarity and genuine empathy
• Review medical records and expert reports
• Supervise paralegals and legal assistants through a case management system
• Oversee the settlement and lien reduction process
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and trials

What We're Looking For

• Active bar license in Missouri and/or Kansas — both preferred
• 5–7+ years of litigation experience; plaintiff-side personal injury strongly preferred
• Excellent client-facing communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload
• A self-starter who takes initiative, speaks up, and is hungry to keep improving

Candidates should be comfortable working primarily in-office in Kansas City and demonstrate a stable, consistent employment history.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

$130,000–$150,000, depending on experience

Performance Bonus

3% on pre-litigation cases / 6% on litigation cases, paid biannually in July and December

Insurance & Coverage

Employer covers 75% of employee health insurance premium; short- and long-term disability and a $25,000 life insurance policy included

Work Schedule & Flexibility

Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM. The firm currently offers two WFH days per month, with one WFH day per week rolling out in early 2027. Attorneys have additional scheduling flexibility as needed.
