Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking an attorney with 3+ years of personal injury litigation and/or trial experience to join our Kansas City office. This full-time, on-site role offers the chance to own case strategy and directly advocate for injured clients within a collaborative team.

You will manage pleadings, discovery, depositions, and negotiations, while guiding clients with empathy and professionalism. Missouri/Kansas bar licensure is required; dual licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of personal injury litigation and/or trial experience.
• Active Missouri and/or Kansas Bar license; dual licensure preferred.
• Experience representing plaintiffs strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and litigation documents.
• Experience interacting directly with clients and insurers.
• Deposition, mediation, hearing, or trial experience.
• Excellent organization, communication, and case-management skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, and client-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Develop litigation strategy and lead execution from filing to resolution or trial.
• Handle personal injury matters to advocate for strong client outcomes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Review discovery requests and responses.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as needed.
• Negotiate with insurers and defense attorneys.
• Communicate with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Review medical records, reports, damages, and other evidence to develop cases.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to keep cases organized and moving forward.
• Oversee settlement and lien-reduction matters through successful resolution.

Location:

Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for an attorney who wants to be closely connected to clients, cases, and a collaborative legal team. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Candidates must have 3+ years of personal injury litigation and/or trial experience and an active Missouri and/or Kansas Bar license. We are seeking a proactive, highly organized attorney who can take ownership of cases, work collaboratively, maintain high standards, and provide exceptional representation to injured clients.

Job Description

• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Review and approve discovery requests and responses.

• Negotiate with insurance companies, defense attorneys, and other parties.
• Communicate directly with clients with empathy, transparency, and professionalism.
• Review medical records, reports, damages, and other evidence needed to fully develop cases.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to keep cases organized and moving forward.
• Oversee settlement and lien-reduction matters through successful resolution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly relevant personal injury litigation and/or trial experience.
• Active Missouri and/or Kansas Bar license; admission in both states is preferred.
• Experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury matters strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
• Experience working directly with clients and insurance companies.
• Deposition, mediation, hearing, and/or trial experience.
• Strong organization, prioritization, communication, and case-management skills.
• Proactive, accountable, collaborative, and committed to exceptional client service.
