Job summary

LAW OFFICE OF KEVIN J MCMANUS LLC in Kansas City, MO seeks an experienced personal injury attorney to manage high-level cases with an A+ team. You will develop case strategy, argue, and advance settlements while growing with a fast‑growing plaintiff firm focused on meaningful client outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of litigation experience, strong personal injury background, and Missouri/Kansas bar licenses. You will mentor staff and contribute to our culture of growth and integrity.

Qualifications

Active Bar License in Missouri and/or Kansas (required).
Minimum 5-7 years in litigation, personal injury preferred.
Experience drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence.

Responsibilities

Developing case strategy and executing that strategy.
Interacting and negotiating with insurance companies.
Communicating with clients with empathy and openness about their cases.
Supervising paralegals and legal assistants ensuring tasks are completed in our case management system.
Preparing pleadings and motions for litigated cases.
Review and approve discovery drafts and requests.
Review medical records and reports.
Supervise the settlement and lien reduction process.
Participation in depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
Celebrate client victories.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a personal injury attorney with litigation experience who has a desire to work up cases in detail while being supported by an A+ team. We’ve built an environment that allows more deep-thinking and creativity than most personal injury firms out there. Based in Kansas City, Missouri with additional offices in Overland Park, KS and Lee’s Summit, MO, we exclusively handle personal injury and long-term disability cases.

To be a part of our team, the ideal candidate will have at least 5-7+ years of litigation experience, significant personal injury experience preferred, and should have the following skills/traits:

Good with people and able to empathize with clients
Motivated, takes initiative and enjoys solving problems,
Top tier organization and prioritization skills (a must-have)
Hunger to learn and grow in all aspects of being a personal injury attorney
Willing to take ownership and speak up to help us all improve everyday

Skills and Qualifications

Active Bar License in Missouri and/or Kansas (both Missouri & Kansas preferred).
Minimum 5-7 years in litigation, with a preference for personal injury law.
Experience in working directly with clients and insurance companies.
Experience in drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence.
