Assist in the administration of the Athletic Department's Sports Medicine Department that adheres to all University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations while providing a safe and accepting environment for coaches, staff, and student-athletes to grow and develop academically, athletically and encourages personal responsibility, sportsmanship, and service to others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Treats injuries and recommends medical attention for athletes injured in sporting events. Provides injury preventative education to athletes and coaches and also provides rehabilitation of injuries through nutrition counseling and/or physical activities.
- Prepares necessary paperwork related to injury reports, insurance reports, training manuals, and budget needs. Organizes student-athlete physicals prior to sport participation and maintains student-athlete medical files.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Education – Acollege degree or four to eight years of work experience in a related field.
- Employment – Six months to two years of work experience in an administrative role. (Equivalent combination of education and employment).

- Willing and able to drive 15-passenger vans
Physical Requirements
Job requires repetitive lifting of light weight objects with frequent bending and stooping, or repetitively lift average weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities. Occasionally lifts heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
- Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.
- Willing and able to travel extensively.
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Driver's License;
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer;
- State of Michigan Athletic Training License;
- American Red Cross First Aid Certification
