JOB TITLE:

Associate General Counsel II/Grants & ContractsAdministrator

JOB PURPOSE:

The Associate General Counsel II/Grants & ContractsAdministrator will serve as a member of the Office of GeneralCounsel (OGC) and the Compliance, Proposals, Agreements &Strategic Services Office (COMPASS), under the Research andEconomic Development Division (REDD). The position's primaryresponsibility will consist of efficiently and timely reviewing,negotiating, processing, and managing the formal Universityacceptance of sponsored project awards including grants,cooperative agreements and contracts for the Universitycommunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft, negotiate, and review terms and conditions with federal,state, and private entities on University sponsored projectsagreements.
• Provide written and verbal communications with various internaland external parties to ensure the timely and accurate review,negotiation, and acceptance of agreements.
• Provide customer service to all campus users.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on sponsored projectagreements.
• Work collaboratively within OGC and REDD as well as with theUniversity department administrators, principal investigators, andTechnology Transfer Office to answer questions, resolve issues, andinterpret agreement provisions and terms.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned by OGCand Pre-Award Services Office.
• Attend conferences and workshops applicable to researchadministration and legal updates and trends within contractadministration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• EDUCATION: J.D. from ABA accredited law school
• EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience as a practicingattorney
• LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, OR OTHERREQUIREMENTS:
• Member in good standing of the Wyoming Bar Association orwho will be admitted to the Wyoming Bar within 12 months ofemployment.

  Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliantwith the Driving for University BusinessSAP.
  
  Experience Evaluation
  
  Experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent(FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be prorated basedon hours worked. For example, two years working an average of 20hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-timeexperience.
  
  Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for allcurrent and previous positions. Failure to provide this informationmay affect the evaluation of qualifications.
  
  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years translatable work-experience or an equivalentcombination of education and experience. Experience includescontract negotiation or working in research or sponsored programsadministration at an institution of higher education.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced andchallenging environment.
• Certified Research Administrator, CRA, CPRA or CFRA.
