Associate University Extension Educator, Extension VolunteerDevelopment Specialist
The individual in this position will provide leadership, guidance,organization, management, and educational opportunities to supportvolunteer development as part of the UW Extension 4-H YouthDevelopment team. This position will also be called upon to consultwith, or provide volunteer training for, other Extension programs,such as Master Gardeners, as appropriate. This individual needsexpertise in principles of volunteer program management, positiveyouth development, conflict management, background screening,training development, and overall risk management with applicationto participant safety.
The individual in this position works under the guidance andsupervision of the UW Extension, 4-H Program Leader with input fromthe UW Extension Director/Associate Dean for the College ofAgriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources (CALSNR) and theUW Extension Associate Director supervising the 4-H program.
Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-timeequivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will beprorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working anaverage of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately oneyear of full-time experience.
Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for allcurrent and previous positions. Failure to provide this informationmay affect the evaluation of qualifications.

The office location for this position hasflexibility to be in several UW Extension offices with a preferencefor being in the state office located on campus at the Universityof Wyoming in Laramie. An individual in this position is expectedto maintain a presence in the state office to effectively balancethe duties of the position. The work schedule will vary, andoccasional nights and weekend work and travel will be necessary. Remote work is not offered for this position.
