Job summary

Farm Credit Bank of Texas seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide practical, business-focused legal support for the Bank's lending operations in Austin. You will structure, negotiate, document, and manage a broad range of commercial lending transactions, including bilateral and syndicated loans, agribusiness financing, and capital markets work.

You will work closely with business leaders and the legal team to drive successful outcomes while navigating regulatory risk and complex financing

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial lending.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas.
• Experience drafting and negotiating loan documents for complex lending.
• Familiarity with agricultural and agribusiness lending is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate lending documents including credit agreements and collateral.
• Provide counsel on structuring, negotiation, and documentation of lending transactions.
• Advise on intercreditor arrangements, lien priority, and portfolio management.
• Collaborate with internal units to manage legal and regulatory risk.
• Guide on Farm Credit Act provisions and related regulations.
• Coordinate regulatory support, including tax exemption, liens, and KYC.
• Collaborate with the legal team on regulatory, transactional, and corporate matters.
