Job summary

Ladders seeks an Associate General Counsel to join a leader in Information Technology, serving as a key legal advisor to the People and Talent organization. This remote US-based role partners with HR and business leaders on employee relations, investigations, terminations, and hiring practices, building guardrails for compliant growth.

You will coordinate with outside counsel to monitor regulations across jurisdictions and keep employment documentation aligned globally.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant legal experience in global employment laws.
• Experience advising HR and Talent teams on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong drafting skills and experience with contract databases.
• Proven ability to manage local outside counsel and budgets effectively.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Associate General Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will serve as a key legal advisor to the People and Talent organization, helping shape employment practices across a global workforce.

You will partner closely with HR and business leaders on employee relations, investigations, terminations, and hiring practices, while building practical guardrails that support compliant growth.

The position also requires close coordination with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to monitor evolving regulations, manage risk, and keep employment documentation aligned across jurisdictions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $230,000 - $310,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal partner to People and Talent, guiding the employee lifecycle.
• Advise on complex employee relations matters, including investigations and terminations.
• Develop jurisdiction-specific guardrails for global hiring and employment.
• Monitor emerging employment regulations and provide actionable recommendations.
• Draft and maintain employment agreements and policies tailored to each jurisdiction.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• 12+ years of relevant legal experience in global employment laws, preferably in regulated industries such as insurance or finance.
• Experience advising HR and Talent teams on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to manage local outside counsel and budgets effectively.
• Strong drafting skills and experience with contract databases.
