Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Counsel | Employment Law to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will serve as a trusted legal partner on employment matters, helping guide day-to-day decision-making and reduce risk across the organization. The counsel will support leaders on a range of workplace issues, with a focus on performance management, terminations, investigations, and employment-related disputes. This position also plays an important role in drafting and reviewing employment documents while ensuring practices align with applicable federal and state requirements.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employment-related matters, including performance management and terminations
• Conduct legal research on employment laws and regulations
• Draft and review employment agreements and related legal documents
• Assist with internal investigations and prepare findings
• Manage litigation holds and employment-related disputes

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 2+ years of employment law experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills
