We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician to work in our Westlake, LA office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to maintain facilities in good operating condition in order to maintain necessary gas flow. The employee will be expected to respond to station related callouts during their assigned week of operating duties. The position includes all responsibilities in the handling of natural gas as related to compression equipment, pipeline, and all related subsystems at the company’s Westlake, LA work location. The employee will perform all assigned construction duties as well as preventive pipeline maintenance and operation related to meter stations, corrosion control, and right-of-way maintenance. They will handle facility encroachment activities including pipe location, excavation, and inspection. The successful candidate is expected to acquire enough Skill Block points to achieve the Field Technician level.
This position will also be responsible for environmental, health & safety for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system and compressor station located near Westlake, LA. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, valve inspection and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, one calls and compressor station duties. This position will be responsible for performing all assigned construction duties as well as preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, corrosion control, and right of way maintenance. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. In this role, you will also be responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances.
This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to pipeline/compressor activities. Qualified candidate must live within 30 miles of the Westlake Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently. Successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures.
Normal Work hours: Monday – Friday (7am – 3:30pm)
