Job summary

Layton Construction Company seeks an Associate Estimator to prepare estimates for diverse projects, supporting project teams to ensure cost accuracy and viable bids. You will assist other estimators and managers across hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating activities.

The role requires reading contract documents, performing quantity take-offs, and pricing information while coordinating with subs and suppliers to confirm pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble.
• Knowledge of On Screen Take-off.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Appropriate knowledge of construction practices.
• Revit and Primavera knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for various projects using hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Read and understand contract documents (plans, specs, addenda).
• Perform quantity take-offs, organize and price information.
• Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
