Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Estimator to prepare estimates for various projects, ensuring cost accuracy in collaboration with the project team. You will assist in all estimating tasks, support bid proposals, and help develop outline schedules.

The role requires a civil engineering or construction management background, 1+ year of estimate experience, and strong proficiency with Timberline and Excel. A solid understanding of bid processes and supplier communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 1 year experience in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency with Timberline and Excel, working knowledge of Word.
• Ability to read plans/specs/addenda and perform quantity takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates for potential projects using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda).
• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information.
• Prepares estimate formats in general conditions, bidding, takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Assists with bid proposals and outline schedules.
