Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Associate Engineer to validate products and processes in the Power Controls Components group.
The role focuses on Drivetrain, transmission, brake and control systems in Mossville, IL, supporting NTI, NPI, and CPI teams with rigorous testing and data-driven improvements. Responsibilities include test prep, execution, data analysis, documentation, and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum, preferably Mechanical, Agricultural, Applied Mechanics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Knowledge of SOPs; ability to design and evaluate SOPs to increase operational efficiency.
- Ability to analyze root causes and provide solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication to convey results to stakeholders.
- Understanding of manufacturability guidelines to optimize designs.
Responsibilities
- Pre-test preparation, inspection, and instrumentation of components to collect data.
- Lab test development and execution to evaluate new products, processes, or systems.
- Analysis of test data and database maintenance.
- Document and communicate test results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other units.
- Contribute to design, development, and validation of Drivetrain transmissions, brakes, and controls.
- Support NTI, NPI, CPI teams.
- Perform test equipment and procedure maintenance.
- Develop SOPs and safe job procedures for lab work.
